Due to retirement of a long serving member of staff, BEW are seeking a Driver/Warehouse Operative to join us here in Bedford.

The primary task of this job is to collect and deliver goods in a safe and timely fashion, using a BEW supplied Mercedes Sprinter van.

You will have excellent attention to detail and willingness to work as part of a team as warehouse duties also form part of this role.

Reliable, with a can-do attitude, you will find your day will be packed with a variety of tasks, including loading goods from branch for customer deliveries and maintaining relevant paperwork for delivery transactions as well as any traffic related issues. And, of course, you will be comfortable taking direction from and supporting store management in day-to-day tasks.

Above all, it will be your initiative, coupled with taking responsibility for effective route planning that will make you stand out from the rest.

• Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 17:00
• Competitive salary and 23 days holiday entitlement.
• Knowledge of delivering in and around London, Bedford and the surrounding counties would be an advantage.
• Clean drivers’ licence is essential.
• Confident in using in-store systems and working to processes.
